Here is my site.
My site utilizes:
1. Rollovers
2. Swap Image
3. Nested tables
4. CSS
I chose a bold, colorful, yet semi-classy design scheme for my site because it reflects the work of the designer. I'm not happy with the landing page, but didn't have as much time to go back and update it after working on all the other pages. I really like how the background turned out. I wanted to have a stitching/fabric theme. The background is so detailed that the stitching really stands out, and then I also drew some "stitches/seams" into my photoshop files.
As far as technology goes, I think the swap image works for the collections, etc., but it got really old as I ended up using it for 3 photo collection pages. If I had a better grasp of some other options, I would have liked to try something else as well.
Unfortunately, I could only gather material from this past season's collection and show, so the pluralities on the menu ("collections") don't apply just yet. I will probably be going back and adding additional media into the site as it becomes available. When this happens, I will add pop-up menu's onto the tabs such as "collection" so that you can view whichever season you choose.
I definitely learned a lot, and I feel like I have a good grasp of the basics, finally. Navigating photoshop, fireworks, and dreamweaver was SO much easier this time around.
And--dear Amy: I will be updating my missing blog posts before tomorrow.

home stretch.
Above is an index page for my site that I spent way too much time on. I wanted something simple, but then things got more complicated. I was going for class with a touch of edge. I'm a fan of the etched lines that are suppose to represent seams. I'm not sure what will go in the lower right quarter on the homepage. Probably just a single image.
The menu bar includes:
BIOGRAPHY
COLLECTIONS
PRESS
SHOWS
BACKSTAGE
FRIENDS
COMING UP...
CONTACT
I plan on incorporating rollovers into the menu bar. The "Biography" will feature Levi's biography, and I'd like to use a scrollbar for that. The "Collections" page will have different seasons listed, then within each season I plan on having swap image effects to view the garments. The "Press" page will have links to external websites. The "Shows" page will include video footage from past shows (Quicktime?). "Backstage" will include swap images from backstage coverage. "Friends" will have links to external friends'/collaborators websites. "Coming Up..." will include dates for upcoming shows or collection releases. Contact will be an email link. I also plan on using CSS for the table border and background of the site.
I have more than the required 3 utilizations, so not all of these pages may come to fruition, but this is the plan as of now.

I Finally Almost Get It
I followed all the steps, and made these:
(File A)
and (File B)
I even bought macromedia studio as well as fetch in hopes of adding to things going smoothly. I have alllll my images and index.html transferred into fetch, but all that shows up is the background and a bunch of question marks. I've been trying to fix it for hours. I'll keep trying.

Round Two.
I've been needing for awhile now to relaunch a fresh website for a company I work with. I was bargaining over the weekend with a web designer. I brought her down from $5500 to $4500 and then had an epiphany: I'll do it myself, god-dammit!
I realize this may be a heavy undertaking, especially considering the results of my last project, but I also think this will be the perfect motivation to do a great site, as well as reach beyond the scope of my current web-design class skills.
Here is the current site. It is a fashion house for a young clothing designer. Really interesting stuff with a lot of personality and character to contribute to a potentially very cool site. I want it reformatted to flash design, all of the content revised and reorganized, and the site updated with the most recent collection and show footage. Basically, everything totally redone--a new site. I already have some design ideas, since I had them ready anyway to meet with the person I would have been hiring. Additional content that will be on the website will include the video of the show and lookbook from the last collection, as well as archival photos/video from past shows and collections. I also want to include a feature where I can track trafiic.
